The Virgin
Thick black kohl, hints of bronze powder to shape his face and a violent slash of carmine across his lips. Xander sat obediently still as Spike embellished him, unable to look away from the tight-laced corset and string of pearls that nudged Spike's Adam's apple as he spoke.
"I'm not having people look at you, wondering why you're there, pet. 'S your first time so you gotta do it right, and that means make-up. Eyeliner alone won't cut it with this crowd; if you don't paint up proper you get toasted."
"We're gonna eat 'em anyway..."
"Not before the show!"
The Tale
"…And then he had me put on this knee-length white linen nightshift and put ribbons in my hair and pretend to be asleep so he could sneak in and ravage poor, innocent little me."
Xander fell backwards off the bed, still laughing, clutching a stomach that felt like it was rupturing from the constant stress. Tears trickled down his face into his hairline as he struggled for breath between the violent bouts of mad, hysterical giggles.
"You're… Hahah! Oh, you have to be - haha! - making this up. No way would Angelus…"
"Dru took pictures."
The stunned, anticipatory silence was deafening.
The Doll
"Dru, luv, that's not a new addition to the family, is it? It'll probably start stinking pretty soon now you've ripped it open."
Drusilla smeared the pale cheeks with blood-tinged rouge, then looked at him with shining eyes. Glass bell chimes of laughter filled the room.
"So silly, Spike, you even made Miss Edith give a giggle. You know I like my dollies clean and tidy."
Spike's glance skimmed their battered, tattered, charred and lost-limbed porcelain audience.
"Right."
"They're coming soon to carry her off to hell. She won't be pretty there."
Dru began to brush the short red hair.
